A leading producer of wood-based biofuels in Sweden, increased production capacity at its Piteå biorefinery with the help of Alfa Laval Compabloc and Spiral Heat Exchangers.

Faced with growing demand for renewable fuels, they needed a solution capable of handling sticky, viscous media while delivering high heat transfer efficiency and low maintenance requirements. Through close collaboration, Alfa Laval provided a tailored heat exchanger solution that improved performance, reduced cleaning frequency, and supported the expansion of diesel production.

The successful project has led to continued cooperation between the two companies as it develops its new tall diesel production plant.
