Technical Data

Type

Electric flow-through heater. Single-pass configuration with quick-change elements (QCE); also available as insert/immersion heater. Can be mounted vertically or horizontally as required.

Size

The Aalborg EH-W (formerly VESTA™ EH-W) series heaters range from Ø150 mm to Ø400 mm shells; standard heating element lengths 1000 mm to 1.200 mm.

Nozzles according to EN 1092-1 or JIS 16K are tailored to customers’ individual requirements.

Capacity

The heat load ranges from15 kW to 486 kW with a nominal surface load of 10 W/cm2. Any intermediate design is available from the standard range. The EH-W series is designed for 380 – 690 V AC; heating elements are manufactured to suit customer specific power source. Design pressure is 10 bar(g). Design temperature is 95 ºC.

Shell in carbon steel heating elements in stainless steel 1.4404 /AISI 316L

Application

The Aalborg EH-W series heat exchangers are primarily used as water heaters in ships. The flexible design makes them well suited for any application where electric power is the cheapest or the only available power source.
