Injector Skid: an oil and gas customer had a requirement to inject corrosion inhibitor fluid into their main circulation lines at a predetermined amount every 6 months.
As the dosing quantity was small, and the operating period was so infrequent, an air driven positive displacement pump was chosen to simplify the installation as far as possible.
A plunging-piston pump can discharge at a higher pressure than the compressed air that is used to drive the pump, which in this case meant that 5 barG air was used to generate an injection pressure of just over 13 barG.
The injector skid unit was fully fitted out in 304 and 316 SS to ensure a long service life.
An explosion proof control panel completed the stand alone skid unit.
