Secondary Sealing: The space around them can be sealed against the rolling bearings using a special shaft or labyrinth seals.

If the can is damaged, the drive side and atmosphere would be protected against the medium for a certain time. Therefore, in conjunction with one of the monitors, this results in effective preventative environmental protection in the case of critical media.
